Bits and Pieces

The Russian is a historian by nature and a software developer by day. We like to exchange philosophical sound bites and of course cultural backgrounds as well as love for sci fi movies, classical music, arts, language - yes we have a lot of common interest. To quote the Russian,
" We share bits and pieces of ourselves and in return find kindred souls."
In return I said...
"Who is Bits and who is Pieces?"
I meant that as a joke but guess it must be one of the cold jokes that no one gets it except me. His pet name for me is Pieces now...

I am not trying to compare him to Mr Honest but having someone initiate and help plan the dates is refreshing for a change! Our first date is at National Art Gallery of Victoria - testament of Mr Russian's artistic nature. I don't mind it except it's high tea to him but lunch to me. We had some salad (which is great ) and a high tea platter of cakes which we shared. To my dismay, the Russian declared he is quite full after that. I tried to be demure and smile (while holding hunger at bay).

I lasted about 1 hour before I caved in and told him I was still hungry and we ordered another cake. I reason it's better he knows I am a big eater before we proceed further into our relationship.

This cake manage to hold me slightly longer and it was a surprise we talked until the cafe closed. So that's a good sign I guess. That and he stays quite near my suburb. No more camping at Nite's burrow for dates.

All in all I think it is a good date. We part ways with plans for a 2nd date which happened. More in next blog.
